Summer and balayage or ombre go hand in hand, as flawlessly paired as sun and sand or backyards and barbecues. It’s our opportunity to essentially wear the essence of summer, with a low maintenance dimensional color that seems kissed by the sun and born from lazy-days in the shade or at the beach. It’s the go-to color trend for celebrities and for any gorgeous gal and this summer, we’ve added a complete palette of new shades for you to love and enjoy in both balayage and ombre.
What’s the difference between balayage and ombre?
Balayage first popped up in France in the 1970s and translated means, “to sweep”, in reference to the method of freeform painting hair color on the hair as opposed to the traditional method of foiling. The result is a gradual, dimensional highlight effect that is subtle and not too starkly contrasted.
