Meet The Perfect Date
Our model Davy has big plans for this Valentine’s Day and wanted to go all out with her look. Her natural hair measures to about 18” but she finds it to be a little on the thin side. She wanted extra volume with a little bit more length so she decided to let Perfect Locks work some magic on her hair.
Choosing the Right Hair Extensions
Resident stylist Alba Randolph was the perfect person for the job. After Davy’s free consultation, it was clear that Davy was looking for extensions that she can use on occasion that she install herself. Her main focus was added volume, as she was not interested in a drastic change in length. Alba suggested using 2 sets of our traditional clip-in hair extensions. The style Alba chose for Davy was our straight 20" 7 piece clip-in set. Alba was able to perfectly color match Davy’s hair. Although she has an ombre from the virgin 1B color at the roots, she has a beautiful chocolate brown color throughout the rest of her hair that matched with our extensions perfectly.
Old Hollywood Hair Glamour
For everyday use, only one clip-in set is needed, but for an ultra-styled look, more hair = more glam! In order to fit 2 clip-in sets in Davy’s hair, Alba placed each piece within ½ - 1 inch from each weft. To ensure that the clip-ins remained in place all night, Alba backcombed Davy’s hair for a stronger hold. To achieve these gorgeous, deep waves, Alba pin curled the hair to ensure that the texture set properly. Once the pin curls cooled, Alba carefully took them down and brushed them out. For added flair, she slicked one side of Davy’s hair down and added some beautiful gold hairpins that contrasted beautifully with her brunette locks. To give Davy’s hair additional volume at the top, Alba flipped her hair to the opposite side and backcombed it. She then lightly brushed it back to it's natural part where the hair stood a bit taller.

The high drama ponytail: High, sleek, with wrapped base and long, flowing length behind it. Use the double-ponytail technique for maximum volume. The extension hair in the ponytail creates the weight and movement that makes this style genuinely striking.

Layer product throughout the build - a light-hold spray at each stage of construction, not just finishing spray at the end. Use pins strategically for structural styles rather than relying on product alone. Sleep the night before in a loose bun on silk to wake up with manageable hair that's easy to style to a glam finish.
