We’ll explain a bit about how they work so you can decide which product is best for you.

Lace Frontals

Lace frontals come in several different hair styles. Straight, Wavy, and Curly Indian hair lace frontals all cover your crown from ear to ear. A curly lace front is a great alternative to weaves because it does not damage your hairline.

Full Lace Wigs

Indian Remy full lace wigs are made from 100% Remy Indian hair. Your hair comes full of gorgeous texture and color. Wigs are easy to apply and give you a full luscious look right away! Purchase full, wavy, and curly full lace wigs on our site for a great price!

What’s the Difference Between Full Lace Wigs and Lace Frontals?

A lace front wig only has lace in the front and cannot be parted at all. A full lace wig can be parted all over because there is more hair. You can use your full lace wig to wear an updo and even a high ponytail.

How to Clean and Maintain your Wigs and Frontals

After a few weeks of wearing your lace frontal or full lace wig, it’s normal to see some mild build up. You may especially start seeing build up around your hairline where the glue is exposed. Clean your hairline and wig every time you get ready to reapply it. Clean both of these areas with an alcohol spray (at least 90%) and be sure to sanitize everything as well. Clean up all of the glue and make sure the old glue is completely gone before you apply new glue. We may cover more detailed instruction on how to clean your wigs in a future post.

For learning how to apply your full and lace frontal, we’ll also cover this in a future post. If you are already familiar with the application, that’s great! Just be sure to keep both your scalp and the line where you apply the glue on your unit clean. We hope that you’ll try a human hair wig or frontal sometime, it’s great to give your tresses a break from a weave! Treat your locks beautifully and you’ll look gorgeous in return!

A lace front wig features a sheer lace panel along the front hairline, typically from ear to ear, with the rest of the cap constructed from a more opaque material. The lace is designed to be glued or taped to your skin so the hairline appears to emerge naturally from your scalp. This creates the illusion of a real hairline - and when done well, it's genuinely undetectable.

Full lace wigs take this concept further. The entire cap is constructed from lace, which means you can part the hair anywhere on the head and the result looks completely natural from any angle. Full lace wigs also allow for high ponytails and updos that would expose a regular wig cap.

"Wigs and frontals have changed so much in recent years. The quality of the lace, the construction of the cap, and the hair itself all matter enormously to how natural the result looks. We only work with the finest Remy Indian hair for our wig collection because the difference in texture, movement, and longevity is significant."

Why Lace Wigs Are Great for Your Natural Hair

One of the biggest reasons women turn to lace front wigs and full lace wigs is to give their natural hair a complete break. If you've been wearing tight sew-ins, experiencing traction stress from braids, or dealing with hair thinning or loss, a wig allows your natural hair to rest and recover while you still look and feel your best.

Unlike some semi-permanent extension methods, a properly applied and maintained lace wig doesn't require heat, glue on your natural hair, or tight tension on your roots. The only contact point is the wig cap sitting on your head and the lace adhesive on your skin - your natural hair underneath can be loosely braided, wrapped, or simply laid flat.

How to Apply a Lace Front Wig

1

Prepare your natural hair

Braid, wrap, or lay your natural hair as flat to the head as possible. Use a wig cap in a shade close to your skin tone to compress your hair. Make sure your hairline is clean and free of any oils or moisturizers that could prevent the adhesive from bonding.

2

Cut the lace (if pre-cut isn't available)

Trim the lace along the hairline carefully with small sharp scissors. Leave 1-2cm of lace beyond where the hair starts - this is what you'll glue to your skin. Cut in small, careful snips following the natural curve of your hairline.

3

Apply adhesive to your skin

Apply a thin layer of wig glue or got2b freeze spray to your hairline. Allow it to get tacky (about 30-60 seconds) before pressing the lace down. Press and hold along the hairline for 30 seconds to ensure the bond sets. Some people do multiple thin layers for a stronger hold.

4

Blend and style

Once the lace is secured, style the wig hair as desired. Use a flat iron, curling iron, or just your hands. For the most natural look, pluck a few hairs from the hairline to reduce density and create a more realistic gradual transition - or ask a stylist to do this for you before your first wear.

Caring for Your Lace Wig to Make It Last

Quality human hair wigs can last 1-2 years or longer with proper care. Here's what matters most:

  • Wash every 7-10 wears with a gentle sulfate-free shampoo
  • Always detangle from ends to roots with a wide-tooth comb before washing
  • Air dry on a wig stand rather than using heat immediately after washing
  • Store on a wig stand when not wearing to maintain shape
  • Use heat protectant before any heat styling
  • Remove adhesive gently using a dedicated wig adhesive remover - never pull the lace
Important: Sleeping in a lace front wig every night significantly shortens its lifespan and can put stress on the adhesive and lace. If you need to keep hair in overnight, a loose braid or bun is safer than leaving it fully styled.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lace Front Wigs

What is a lace front wig?

A lace front wig has a sheer lace panel along the front hairline that creates the illusion of a natural hairline when adhered to the skin. The rest of the cap is typically made from a more durable material. The lace allows the hairline to look completely realistic, making it one of the most popular wig styles available.

How long does a lace front wig last?

A quality human hair lace front wig can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on how often it's worn, how well it's cared for, and how it's applied and removed. Synthetic lace fronts typically last 3-6 months with regular wear.

Can you swim or sweat in a lace front wig?

Most adhesives are water-resistant but not completely waterproof. Swimming is not recommended while wearing a glued lace front, as the water and chlorine can break down the bond. Sweating during exercise can also loosen the adhesive over time. Tape-based applications tend to hold up better to light moisture than glue.

What is the difference between a frontal and a closure?

A frontal covers the entire front hairline from ear to ear, allowing for a full range of parting options across the top of the head. A closure is smaller (typically 4x4 or 5x5 inches) and covers just the top center area to close off a sew-in install. Frontals offer more styling versatility; closures are more affordable and easier to manage.

Is human hair or synthetic better for a lace front wig?

Human hair lace front wigs look more natural, can be heat styled, and last much longer than synthetic options. They're also more comfortable and breathable. Synthetic wigs are more affordable upfront but need to be replaced much more frequently and can't be heat styled without damage. For everyday wear, human hair is almost always the better long-term investment.
