It’s almost here! That one day of the year where friends and family pop over to celebrate, spend time together and give thanks, kicking off the holiday season once more. But with all the entertaining, cooking in the kitchen and looking our best, you want a hairstyle that’s fast and easy and looks good but won’t be overdone (and hopefully neither will the turkey). We rounded up some of our favorite trending autumn hairstyles below to give you inspiration to look gorgeous for the big day!

#1: The Effortless Loose “Wrap and Bun”

ciara beautiful updo hair

Singer, songwriter, dancer, model and actress Ciara has a busy life and always looks stunning, but it was her loose bun hairstyle with an elegant head wrap that really made headlines this year. Her hairstylist César DeLeon Ramírez created this messy bun look for an event and it’s really such an ideal look for looking glam in the kitchen as it keeps your hair up and out of the way while still looking amazing. Don’t have the volume for it? Try our new Human Hair Scrunchies!

#2: The L.A. Lob Hairstyle

There is something so iconic about Los Angeles hairstyles and part of it has to do with the unique and cool vibe to the city…energy, but it is casual. The lob hairstyle is as fun as it is feminine with lots of great waves and layers while also retaining a softness. It is such a carefree hairstyle that requires little more than some light hairspray or even a hair oil to look glam and frizz free. We recommend our Perfect Locks Argan Oil.

#3: The TikTok Wolfcut

TikTok has grown to become a front line of creativity that isn’t just where hair and fashion trends are showcased in video form, but is now actually CREATING trends. Case in point is the “wolf cut” trend this year that saw a melding of the classic shag hairstyle with the longer length of a mullet. Now before you scoff, this look isn’t the mullet of the 80s, it’s a rocker chic look that anyone can wear and features layers of movement, depth and texture that frames any face. You need the length and density to make this look work however, as well as frizz control in the form of a spray gel. We recommend our Perfect Locks Curl Styling Spray gel

#4: The Bubble Ponytail with Ribbons

A sleek and tight ponytail looks great for any occasion, but to dress it up for the holidays, strips of ribbon fabric in dressy formal black or something more colorful and festive create a whole different vibe. Simply pull apart and out sections of your ponytail to create the trendy “bubble” effect. Need the length? How about our Clip-In Ponytail?

#5: Just For Fun…GO GAGA!

Nine years ago now, Lady Gaga and ABC worked together on creating a musical performance Thanksgiving special dubbed “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving”. What stole the show was the array of retro beehive shaped “hair hats” that she simply plopped on during the performance. While this is probably over the top for the Thanksgiving table, it does prove however that a style change is simple as selecting one of our “ready to wear” 100% human remy hair wigs in a variety of lengths, colors and textures.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving, family time and make sure to “dress” your hair at the same time you dress the turkey.

More Quick Thanksgiving Hairstyles

"Thanksgiving hair needs to survive a lot - cooking, family photos, a meal, and probably a few hours of conversation afterward. The styles that work best are the ones you can do in 10 minutes and forget about for the rest of the day. Extensions help because they add the volume and polish that makes simple styles look intentional."

5 More Holiday Hairstyles for Thanksgiving

The twisted half-up: Take two small sections from each side of the front, twist toward the back, and secure together with a clip or pins. Leave the rest down. Two minutes, looks polished, works with or without extensions. The extensions add length and volume to the hair left down.

The easy French twist: Gather all hair to one side, twist upward along the back of the head, and tuck the ends under. Secure with bobby pins along the twist. A classic that reads as formal without requiring significant skill. Extensions add the volume that makes the twist look full rather than flat.

The low side bun: Gather hair to one side at the nape, twist loosely, coil into a bun, and pin. Pull a few pieces loose around the face. Takes 5 minutes and looks intentional for a seated family dinner. The extension hair adds fullness to the bun.

Soft waves with a headband: Use a velvet or embellished headband to pull all the hair back from the face, letting waves or curls fall behind. Zero styling skill required - the headband does the work. Add a large-barrel curl to the extension hair and natural hair together for loose, effortless waves.

The braided crown: Create two Dutch braids from each side of the part and wrap them across the top of the head like a crown, pinning at the back. More time-consuming than the others (10-15 minutes) but truly stunning for family photos. Extensions woven into the braid make the braids thicker and more dramatic.

Setting Up for an Easy Holiday Morning

Whatever style you choose, prep the night before: wash and blow dry your extensions, set out your tools and pins, and choose your accessories. The Thanksgiving morning chaos is real - the less decision-making and prep you have to do in the moment, the better.

Frequently Asked Questions

What hairstyle is best for Thanksgiving dinner?

Styles that stay out of your face while cooking and look polished for photos: a low bun, half-up twist, or soft waves with a headband all fit these criteria. Avoid very high or elaborate styles that require touch-ups throughout the day. The goal is something you can do in 10 minutes and forget about.

How do you do holiday hair quickly?

Preparation is the answer. Wash and blow dry your hair and extensions the night before. Have your tools and accessories out. Choose a style you've practiced before rather than trying something new on the day. With dry, prepped hair, most holiday styles take under 10 minutes.
