Shampoo Substitutes - Clean Your Perfect Locks Without Stripping Your Tresses

long wavesWhether you leave your tresses natural or not, it's still a good idea to give your hair a break from shampoo every once in a while and instead substituting your shampoo with an alternative cleaning technique. From baking soda (yes, baking soda), to Terressentials Mud Wash, there are a lot of quality products or natural ingredients out there that do their job at cleaning hair without stripping your tresses of its natural oils and moisture.

Keep in mind that shampoo is not bad, it just can be harsh on your locks over time. So take a break from your everyday shampoo and embrace some of these quality and effective products that we recommend:

    Terressentials Mud Wash:

Nicknamed as "mud", the Pure Earth Hair Wash cleans your tresses without any foam boosters, protein thickeners, preservatives, chemical detergents, and other materials that harm your hair. Use this effective and pure "shampoo" that will leave your tresses clean and shiny. Plus, it is 100% organic! Who knew "mud" could be this great? :)

    Baking Soda:

Baking soda has also been proved to be an effective cleaner, especially for black women with natural hair. Some say it causes hair damage, but compared to shampoo baking soda is actually a better alternative! The facts relay the truth that your hair will only change mildly when it is exposed to baking soda long wavesor alkaline soap. Shampoo has negative qualities that lift the cuticle and with baking soda, your hair will recover and be back to normal within 45 minutes to three hours of using baking soda (British Journal of Dermatology, Volume 76, Issue 3, pp 122-125, 1949). If you're still afraid that baking soda will dry out your hair, counteract the mild dryness you may experience with a conditioner or leave-in conditioner after you shower.

    Perfect Locks Hydrating Shampoo:

Okay, we know it's called shampoo, but our hydrating shampoo is actually very safe to use on your hair!  Our hydrating shampoo leaves your hair soft and shiny while keeping your color 100% safe. This product is enriched with natural ingredients and infused with French Argan Oil, and is formulated to add incredible moisturize to keep hair healthy and prevent dry, brittle hair. It is also a great shampoo to use on your curls and is 100% thermal safe. Plus - it is completely Sulfate, Paraben & Sodium Chloride Free.

Treat your tresses right and take a break from shampoo for a while. Or at least find a "shampoo" that's natural and will prevent dry hair without stripping it of its natural beauty.
