Magnificent Metallic - Oscar Dresses that Were Born to Shine

Did you watch the Oscars Lockettes? If you did you may or may not have noticed a huge trend that took place on the red carpet this year: metallic dresses. We're wondering why this trend wasn't done years earlier! Or if it was done in years past and we happened to miss it, we're happy that it is back! These ladies were born to shine, so why not show off their fabulous figures?! We're happy they did because they looked fabulous. So let's talk about who embraced this trend. For starters we're stealing a brief summary from Fabsugar because they got all of their details straight. They were there at the red carpet on Sunday night as well! Wish we could have gone. {insert pouty face} :)

"Stacy Keibler highlighted her enviable figure in a silver-studded Naeem Khan  racerback creation; Renee Zellweger stunned in a liquid gold Caroline Herrera  gown; and Naomi Watts's silver-sequined Armani Privé confection proved unforgettable. Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson opted for a sexy metallic blue Roberto Cavalli gown and Bond girl Naomie Harris took the eco-friendly route in a chic gold gown made out of recycled zippers and chocolate candy wrappers (yes, you read correctly)." - via Fabsugar

So now that you know who embraced this shiny trend, who was your favorite? Well here are some of the photos of some gorgeous actresses that we loved. They did great with their accessories as well!

    Stacy

Stacy Keibler definitely showed George Clooney who was boss when she went down the runway in this silver studded gown. Now we know why George and Keibler are still going strong! ;) We're trying to make out her accessories which look pretty impressive too. She reminds us of a modern day Gatsby actress with a Cleopatra twist. Nice work Stacy!

JenniferJennifer Hudson certainly rocked the red carpet with this mermaid -like dark blue sequin gown. Not only does she have a killer figure (thanks to her success with Weight Watchers), but she definitely knows how to style herself perfectly, whether she uses a stylist or not. Jennifer's waist long tresses also look sleek and long and we're thinking she has hair extensions in. Perhaps even Straight Virgin clip on hair extensions - what do you think? ;)

    Naomi

We love that our James Bond girl Naomie Harris took the eco-friendly route by wearing a chic gold gown that was made out of recycled zippers and chocolate candy wrappers! Yes, that is so cool! Not only were her metallic colors subtle and chic, but her open toed pumps went perfectly with her gown and her clutch  and gold bracelets were the perfect touch as well. She definitely looked marvelous.

    Naomi Watts

Last but not least Naomi Watts, who was up for Best Actress but lost (it's okay we still love you Naomi!), went down the red carpet in a silver-sequined Armani Privé confection. The cut and style of her gown was simply breath taking, don't you think? Her updo was definitely gorgeous as well!

In fact, come back later today for a recap on Oscar hairstyles! We're going to highlight some of our favorite updos!

    Enjoy your Tuesday Lockettes!
