Here’s to a Glamorous 2013: Creating Fashionable New Year’s Resolutions
This entry was posted on January 2, 2013.
Losing weight in the new year is always a popular New Year’s Resolution, and having a fit body is obviously a strong component of creating your style. Your body type determines which clothes you can and cannot wear, but fashion resolutions can get much more creative than just counting calories and racking up miles on the treadmill. Take some time this year to think through some goals you have to develop and transform your personal style and use a bit of that Christmas money to make some of it happen.
Try Something Unique
You’ve read about things like Virgin Indian hair extensions, false eyelashes, oxygenizing facials, and mineral makeup, but have you taken the steps to try any yet? Make a resolution to try all the beauty products, tools, and services you've been wanting to try. Even if it’s just for the sake of knowing what the product does and how it feels, 2013 is a great time to try something new. It could majorly influence your beauty routine in positive ways, or it might just be something you never try again. You’ll never know unless you do it. If it totally flops, you’ve got some great stories over drinks with the girls.
Dare to Dress
Take a look at some of the hot spring trends that are coming in 2013 and make a resolution to try something different that you wouldn't normally wear. Don’t choose something you find hideous -- but something that walks along the fence of your style. By challenging yourself to wear something out-of-the-ordinary, you’ll influence your style to grow with the times and stay unique and fresh.
Try wearing it somewhere where you’ll see a few people you know but won’t feel too unconfident if you’re not 100% sure of yourself. See what people say. If no one gives a compliment, wear the item in front of a trusted friend who will tell you the truth, and ask if it’s something you should wear out again. If it is, you’ve got a great new piece to add to your wardrobe. If it isn’t, chalk it up as a learning experience and add that info into your knowledge of works and doesn’t work for your body type.
Many other plans could influence your style in the New Year. If you desire to try a daring new haircut or a different makeup technique, you only live once!
