- It can be sold in its raw state, but also as a finished product to fix the cuticle layer problem just mentioned.
- During finishing, the cuticle layer is chemically stripped off and the hair is coated in silicone to make it look healthy again. This silicone however doesn’t last long, washing away after a few showers, leaving the hair dry and frizzy.

Next the hair is put through the process of hackling where it is untangled and sorted into individual strands. After this step the hair is cleansed and conditioned until no dirt or impurity remains. The deep conditioning helps the hair maintain its virgin state and as soon as it is considered clean and silky, it dries and shortly is ready to become Remy hair to sell.
