Washing your hair extensions is easy and you should always make sure to keep them clean. After doing activities that would make you sweat, you must wash your hair as soon as you are home. It would build up dirt as well as sweat and you may have a hard time dealing with hair tangles. If you are have hair tangles, remove it first before washing your hair. Make sure that you do not bend over when washing. Start from the root up to the tip. There are also nice shampoos that you can use which are specially made for hair extensions.
Just like your normal hair, you hair extension can also be made in a style that you desire. When styling your hair extension, see to it that you only use a brush with soft bristles. Unlike washing, you should start brushing your hair from the tip and work your way up to the top. Always brush the hair gently to avoid tangles. Make sure that you also brush your hair extension at least twice a day. It is not advisable to use curling irons or hair dryers in hair extensions unless needed. The more often you use these kinds of hair styling equipments, the shorter will be the lifespan of your hair extension. Besides, it also contributes to hair damage and hair fall as well. Just allocate enough time and let it dry naturally.
At the end of the day, you would probably want to wash your hair to get rid of the dirt you got from all the activities that you had. Make use of the washing tips that was mentioned before. Afterwards, let it dry again naturally. See to it that you do not sleep with your hair wet so that the extensions will not be damaged.
Good hair products should be used in caring for your extensions. Rather than using conditioners that you would wash off before you leave the shower, use the leave-on conditioner instead. This would help you achieve a soft and bouncy hair all day long. However, you must put only ample amount of hair conditioner. The same goes for all the products that you would put in your hair. Too much hair product may cause hair tangle. Aside from that, you must not also use hair products that use alcohol as its main ingredient. This would result to dry and frizzy hair not only on the extension but to you natural hair at the same time.
And while you have extensions to make you look fabulous, do not attempt to do any hair treatments on your own. This includes hair coloring or perm. If you want to have hair treatments, let the stylist who extended your hair do it for you.

It’s very important to treat your hair extensions properly to ensure the longevity of them. We highly recommended that you wash your hair 3 to 4 times per week, especially after active events like swimming or exercising. Your hair can be washed with cold or warm water, so the choice is up to you! If you are planning to deep condition your hair, just leave the conditioner in for 3 to 5 minutes before rinising it out with warm water.
The most important part is what you do after your hair is washed. You must be very careful and treat your hair with care… this includes not rubbing or ruffling the hair. It’s best to put a towel on your head and let the water soak into the towel. You must never sleep on wet hair, sleeping on wet hair extensions is known to matte the hair badly… this is a surefire method to ruin your extensions so don’t do it!
Your hair must be combed everyday, especially after each wash. We highly advise that you comb the hair from the ends upwards, this method helps prevent shedding by keeping the pressure away from the wefted area near your scalp. We have many answers to your Indian hair frequently asked questions.
It’s best to routinely practice these advice tips, brushing your hair each day is an especially important thing to you. You can train your self to brush first thing in the morning, just lean your head forward and use a soft brush to gently brush your hair from the root end toward your scalp. We care about our Indian hair extension customers and want them to learn how they can help ensure the longevity of their hair.
Pin curls were a big style in the 1920’s when curling barrels weren’t always around. Pin curls are a great way to get beautiful and long lasting curls. You don’t have to go to an expensive salon to get the perfect curls, because we are going to show you how.
There are two ways you can create pin curls:
Wet Set
Step 1: Wash and shampoo your hair thoroughly. Towel dry your hair, you can leave your hair damp. Comb or use your fingers to detangle any pieces of hair. If your hair doesn’t hold curls well, you can apply some setting lotion. Step 2: Gather together bobby pins and a rat tail comb. Step 3: Use a comb to divide you’re into small one inch sections. One by one wrap each section around your finger tightly while holding your finger close to your head. Slowly slip your finger off the hair and pin the hair down to your head with a bobby pin. You may need to use two hair pins. Step 4: Continue repeating Step 3 until your whole head is in pin curls. Before you go to sleep make sure you wrap your hair in a silk scarf.
Dry Set
Step 1: Wash and shampoo your hair as if you would doing a wet set. Comb the tangles out of your hair and blow dry your hair on cool or if you want you can let your hair air dry. Step 2: With your bobby pin and rat tail comb nearby, section hair into one inch sections and apply setting lotion or “spit” as they did in the 1920’s. Step 3: This is where the difference from a wet set comes into play. One by one twist the section of hair, starting with the ends all the way to the roots. Wind the twisted hair around your finger and pin your hair done to your head with bobby pins.
By doing either a dry or wet set you can create beautiful pin curls that will last for at least a week. All you have to do is wake up in the morning and just simply have beautiful hair!
Altering your hair color can give you an instant new look. The change can be dramatic or subtle, depending on what color you give your hair. The color of your hair can have an impact on the texture of your hair and it can enhance hairstyles. When deciding to color your hair make sure you choose a color that will fit you. Sometimes people don’t realize how easy it is to color hair extensions, it’s the same as coloring a real head of hair! One thing to keep in mind is that you should only color hair that hasn’t been colored yet. Coloring hair extensions that are already colored is not a good idea as it has already been heavily processed. It’s advised that you use virgin, natural colored (color 1b) indian wefts or bulk hair to apply the color, as it’s already in it’s already in it’s purest state. Also, You always want to make sure you do your research in choosing a safe hair color system, there are brands that have proven themselves to be safe for consumers to use.
Not everyone has the extra money to get their hair colored at a salon. A so called professional color can sometimes cost over $60.00. That “professional” look can still be achieved if you do it the right way. Coloring your hair is as easy as writing a letter. It takes considerable time and it’s simple.
Steps to Color Your Hair:
Make sure you read the instructions at least twice. Reading the instructions is important; it will help you avoid making unnecessary mistakes. Before you begin make sure do the strand test recommended. The strand test will help you determine how much time you need for your hair to color. Wear the gloves included, they are for your protection. Once your gloves are on you can mix and stir the hair color solution. Most of them require you to add the color formula to a developer and shake or stir well.
Now you can begin applying the color mixture to your hair. You begin applying it to your roots and work your way down to the ends of your hair. You can part your hair into sections, that way you color every strand.
Next, pile your all your hair on top of your head and cover your hair with the plastic cap. This cap is usually included in the package. Begin timing how long the hair color has been in. If you did the strand test, you will know exactly how much time you needed for your hair to change color.
After your time is up you can wash all the color mixture out your hair. Make sure you thoroughly wash all the substance out of your hair. Condition your hair to replenish the moisture. Usually a special hair conditioner will come with the coloring solution.
Blow dry your hair completely. You will see the results!
See, coloring your hair isn’t so difficult after all. It’s as easy as changing your clothes only if you do it right! We still recommend that you choose the right hair salon for a professional hair coloring job, we are simply offering this advice as an alternative measure for those of you who are confident enough to try it.
If you’re like me, you like wearing your hair in styles that are easy, last long and that’s for all occasions. If this description fits you then I know the perfect hairstyle for you. Yes, it’s time you learn the right way to put some lustrous curls in your hair that’s perfect for work, a date with your special someone or even just a night at the movies with your girls.
The first step in creating curls that not only look nice but last long is to thoroughly clean your hair. Shampoo your hair and towel dry. Use a dime size of your favorite hair moisturizer and work it through the lengths of your hair. This eliminates any fizz and gives your hair some moisture.
Next you can detangle your hair by blow drying it and using a round brush to straighten your strands. Don’t set your dry on the highest setting. Your hair doesn’t have to be bone straight because we want to leave some texture to it, that way it will curl better.
Once your hair is dry you can take some rollers (Velcro rollers are the best) and roll your hair up. Depending on the size you want your curls to be, you can use small, medium sized or large rollers. After rolling your hair up, you should sit under an head dryer, if you don’t have one the job can be done with an hand blow dryer.
When your hair is set, carefully remove the rollers from your hair. Spray your hair with an very light holding spray. A lot of holding spray can damage your hair. Now, take a small to medium sized curling barrel and curl the hair half way below the roots.
Now all you have to do is separate your curls to your liking. For high volume you can should turn your head downward and softly separate curls by back combing your hair. You can also use a curling barrel to fix certain curls to your liking.
